Q: Is government subsidy of daycare fees available at Great Beginnings?
A: Yes.  To determine if you qualify, please contact us.

Q: Are there discounts for missed attendance?
A: Our budget is based on a 52-week year, therefore discounts cannot be made for holidays or any absenteeism.  For more fees related information, please consult our Parents Handbook.

Q: What if I am late picking up my child(ren)?
A: Our hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  A late fee will be charged to parents who have not picked up their children at our 6:00 PM closing time.  The late charge is $5.00 for each 5-minute increment after 6:00 PM.  This fee is paid directly to the staff in charge.

Q: What about child discipline?
A: We believe in order to promote a safe and comfortable atmosphere, children need to be disciplined in a positive manner that is age appropriate.  Re-direction and time-outs are two methods that have proven successful while leaving the child’s self-esteem intact.  Please be reassured that NO form of corporal punishment or verbal abuse will be permitted.

Q: What are the daycare’s policies on illness?
A: In all fairness to the child himself and others, a sick child should not be at daycare.  It is our policy that children too ill to participate in all aspects of our program, including outdoor play, should remain at home.  For more information related to child illness, please consult our Parents Handbook.

Q: Can daycare staff administer medication?
A: Daycare staff cannot administer non-prescription medication drugs (i.e. Tempra, Tylenol, etc.) unless accompanied by a current doctor’s note.  For any medication, prescription or non-prescription, Medication Administration forms must be thoroughly filled out by parents.  All medication must be in its original container and clearly labelled.  Kindly give medicine to a staff member (do not leave any medication with your child or in his cubby area).  For more information related to medication, please consult our Parents Handbook.
